Department mission
The Department of International Economic Relations (KMEV) focuses on macroeconomic aspects of the world economy and international trade, which form an interconnected whole of knowledge of real development processes and thus help to find approaches to solving global and regional problems. The Department of International Economic Relations provides the other departments of FIR and some other faculties of the University of Economics with a macroeconomic theoretical framework and its application for the study of the systemic context of the world economy and international trade.
The department provides the theoretical background for teaching to its application subjects and other FMV departments by teaching course 2SE251 International Economics and 2SE455 International Economics II. These are part of all English-instructed bachelor’s and master’s programs of the faculty.
Key courses
Another key group of subjects provided by KMEV to the Faculty are application courses. These mainly subject 2SE252 World Economy, 2MO351 International Trade, 2SE601 International Economic Relations, 2MO454 Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability in Business, 2SE152 Geography of the World Economy and 2SE154 Geography of International Relations. These subjects are mainly involved in International Business and International and Diplomatic Studies programs; both bachelor’s and master’s.
The Department of International Economic Relations is the main guaranteeing center of the Master’s program European Economic Integration, for which it teaches basic compulsory and elective courses.
Other areas of specialization
In addition, the department continues to develop special subjects within the framework of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs of the FIR, especially in the main specialization European Economic Integration and secondary specializations European Economic Integration, Chinese Studies, and Development Studies. These subjects complete the profile of the graduate of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs and are also the basis for studying in doctoral study programs.
