Prof Kobus Jonker from Pretoria at FIR /10.10./

The Department of International Economic Relations will host prof. Kobus Jonker of the Tshwane School for Business and Society in Pretoria.

Professor Jonker will give a lecture as part of the courses 2SE202, 2SE252 & 2SE272 World Economy and 2SE440 Regional Markets in a Global Perspective on Monday, October 10 from 12:45 in the Vencovský aula on the topic Disruptive Technology Business Models for BOP Markets in Africa. The lecture will focus on Disruptive Business Models in Africa, especially from the point of view of South African companies and what innovations they bring to the market there. Students outside the courses are also invited to the lecture.

Prof Kobus Jonker is a professor in business strategy, founder of the MBA programme at NMMU Business School and former chairman of the Business School Partners Network (BSPN). He is a strategic planning consultant to Standard Bank, Tenneco, Schnellecke, Eberspächer and the Eastern Cape Justice Department. He has presented over 80 workshops to organisations over a period of 13 years. He holds 26 years’ experience in lecturing MBA students at middle and senior management levels and is a visiting professor to TH-Nurnberg in Germany. Prof Jonker’s research and publications include: An Holistic Approach to Strategic Decision-making (World Congress on Holistic Management, Australia).
